The time you spend at Cassels Brock will be challenging and rewarding, resulting in invaluable learning experiences - and fun. We don't want you to spend all of your time working, so we organize regular events during the year, both social and charitable (or something in between). Take a peek at our event photo gallery to see for yourself.
Cassels Brock regularly holds events to allow students and lawyers to relax and get to know one another.
In the past, we've gone rock climbing, taken flying lessons, snowboarded, rowed Lake Ontario, raced around an Indy track, sampled the harvest at a winery, won big at the horse races, sparred in a boxing ring and had a laugh or two at our own expense learning cooking basics at Great Cooks on Eight.
Let's Go, Blue Jays!!! - July 24, 2013
Rogers Centre, Toronto
On July 24, 2013, our Toronto summer students will cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre as they take on the L.A. Dodgers. Let's go, Bl;ue Jays!
Celebrating You (and your Call to the Bar)! - June 20, 2013
On June 20, 2013, Cassels Brock will host a cocktail party to celebrate our 2012/13 articling students' Call to the Bar with our students and their proud families.
While our lawyers are undeniably hard-working, they are far from one-dimensional. After time for family and community, it’s hard to find time for personal interests and development. We’ve addressed this by having a regular lawyers’ lunch (students are invited too!) with interesting speakers who satisfy our interests beyond the world of law. Here are a few of our recent lunch guests:
A veteran star of the Canadian Olympic hockey team and Cassels Brock's sponsored athlete
Host of CBC Radio's Cross Country Checkup, showcased his political insight
Autor of Prisoner of Tehran talked about what it was like to be arrested, tortured and sentenced to die at the age of 15 years old
The Toronto Star’s architecture critic and urban issues columnist
Arts critic for the Globe & Mail showed us "How to Become a Film Buff"
From the Royal Ontario Museum, discussed "Sex and Love in Ancient Egypt"
Gave a first-hand account of how the AIDS epidemic is ravaging Africa
Here are some examples of our recent charitable involvement. For a complete list, please visit our Community Work section.
